Miliana graduated with combined degrees in 2000 having attained a Bachelor of Financial Administration and a Bachelor of Laws (BFA/LLB) from the University of New England in Australia. Miliana returned to law school in 2021 where she completed the Professional Diploma in Legal Practice at the University of the South Pacific. She was duly admitted to the High Court of Fiji in November 2021 and commenced an internship with the Fiji Law Society in February 2022. Miliana joined Howard’s commercial team in April 2022 and is currently practicing in the areas of conveyancing, civil and commercial law.

Miliana brings 20 years of combined work experience from the banking and finance sector, as well as private sector development. She started her career at the Ministry of Economy, and later moved to the Reserve Bank of Fiji, as an Investment Officer in the Financial Markets Group, setting the Fiji dollar exchange rate daily, an authorized FX dealer/trader, monitoring international financial markets and managing the foreign reserves portfolio, where she completed a Graduate Certificate in Applied Finance and Investment from FINISA in 2006. She pursued a new role as a Business Adviser, later becoming the Fiji Country Coordinator with the Australian Government funded, Market Development Facility. She managed the high value agriculture portfolio, supporting economic growth initiatives, entrepreneurship, and innovation, using the market systems approach.

Miliana has provided business mentoring to the Pacific Greenpreneurs Incubator cohort with Global Green Growth Fund (GGGI Pacific), and consultancy services to SALT Inc Fiji and the United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs. Miliana is also an Advisor with the Private Financial Advisory Network (PFAN), accelerating investment for Climate and Clean Energy.
