Namrata completed her Bachelor of Laws Degree and Professional Diploma in Legal Practice at the University of the South Pacific in 2012. In February 2013, she gained admission to the High Court of Fiji. Namrata joined Howards’ litigation team in September 2023, where she currently practices in the fields of civil litigation and commercial law.
Before her tenure at Howards Lawyers, Namrata devoted a significant portion of her legal career to the Legal Aid Commission. She progressively rose to the role of Principal Legal Officer, overseeing the Commission’s western offices. Her initial legal practice at the Commission encompassed criminal, family, and civil law, and she eventually assumed leadership of the Civil Litigation Units in Suva and Lautoka.
Namrata possesses extensive experience in civil litigation, with specific expertise in Wills & Estate law, Negligence, Contracts law, as well as Administrative and Constitutional law. She has also effectively represented clients in a variety of criminal cases in the Magistrates’ and High Court of Fiji, and has provided legal counsel to clients in civil and criminal matters before the Appellate courts. Additionally, Namrata has assisted clients in various family-related cases.
